For professional women, I generally recommend wearing a top with a simple neckline (a scoop neck works well), with or without a tailored suit jacket. Even if you are in a field that does not regularly wear a suit jacket, I have found that the more tailored you appear, the more professional the portrait will be. Solid colors are best for women’s tops, and I suggest choosing fabrics that fit well and fall nicely on your torso. Choose a color that contrasts nicely to your skin and/or the suit jacket, and add a splash of color that brings out your character. Keep your makeup and jewelry simple, so as to not take away from your expression. 

For a professional male, I recommend a medium to dark suit jacket with a solid color shirt. Striped or checked shirts are less easily retouched if there are any distracting folds, wrinkles, bumps (or stains) in the fabric. If your personal brand is to not wear a jacket, I recommend wearing a solid color shirt other than white. In general, I find that the better fitted and/or tailored the suit jacket or shirt top, the more professional the portrait will be. You are welcome to bring a variety of shirts and/or jackets and ties and together we can determine the best combination.

Modeling headshots needed for comp cards frequently involve more clothing changes than a single headshot. Bring several changes of clothing, from casual to dressy. We’ll take close up headshots and full length body shots. Models typically select two to three additional image files beyond the standard single image headshot package.

Yes, absolutely. You are welcomed to bring two to three changes of clothing in order to represent a variety of styles.

The standard background we use is white. In our experience, the white background is best for headshots with its clean colorless background adaptable for most web and/or print uses. If you let us know in advance, we can set up an alternate background, in beige, brown or grey.

A single professional portrait headshot package runs $350 (see the special offers page for deals!) for the session plus one fully retouched high resolution digital file for use in print and/or web. Bring a colleague and save… the second person scheduled back to back is only $150 additional. 

The session fee pays for Bobbie’s time during the session and one finished, retouched high-resolution print file for use in print and/or web. We will see results instantly on the computer as the session takes place. The session continues until we obtain the very best image.

Yes, of course. If you bring a colleague with you, you will save. To add on another person, it is just $150 if you are back to back in the same time frame. If there are more than three of you, we can discuss a group rate. 

Most sessions run approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Typically, we take a few rounds of photographs, review our results together on a monitor,  and see which expressions or poses work best. Then we make adjustments to achieve your best shot. It is a very collaborative process and can be lots of fun.

We understand that personal emergencies, illness or inclement weather sometimes require sessions to be rescheduled. We kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible in order to make that time slot available to other clients. Cancellations or postponements less than 48 hours prior to your session may result in a cancellation fee.

Individual headshot sessions take place in the studio in Lynn, however we are also available to come to you in the workplace to photograph your entire office staff (inquire with us for a budget estimate).

We often work with companies that need several executives photographed in a single business day and we bring the studio to their office. Generally, this works well if you have a workplace of busy professionals where it is worth the extra budget to have us come to you. Contact us for an estimate if this interests you.

Don't we all want to look younger and thinner! I know that you want to look your very best. Trust me -- it's my job to make sure you look and feel great. As someone over 50 herself, I know how we want to lose those extra pounds here and there. As part of the retouching process, I am able enhance your portrait as needed and still have you look completely natural. My goal is to make you look yourself -- as the best, most refreshed version of who you are! 

If you always wear glasses, then of course it is best to photograph you wearing glasses. If possible, I find that non-glare lenses are best suited for portraits. If you only occasionally wear glasses, it’s often preferable to go without so your eyes are best seen. Another tip: I once had a client who normally wears extra thick lenses come in for her portraits with a pair of empty frames -- it was a terrific solution because there was no lens distortion and I could easily see the expression in her eyes. 

It works best to arrive with your hair styled in a way that you are comfortable with it. Some clients prefer to go to their stylist before the session, while others prefer to style their hair on their own. Make-up is best kept light and natural looking. Adding a light foundation to even out your skin tone is perfect. I have found that women who choose to see their stylist ahead of their professional portrait session feel more confident in front of the camera. 

While in the studio, you’ll have the opportunity to instantly preview the images on the computer monitor! We work together to narrow down your favorites, comparing images side by side.  If you need the valued opinion of a colleague, spouse or professional acting coach, we are able to post your top selections to a temporary web gallery in order to reach your final selection.

You may choose as many as your budget allows. The professional headshot package includes one (1) finished, retouched full resolution digital image to use as you wish for print, web, marketing collateral, reprints, comp cards and professional profiles such as LinkedIn. If you need additional poses, for modeling comp cards, or a second professional portrait in a different outfit, you may purchase additional digital files for $95 apiece. In most cases, clients are after just one really fantastic portrait. 

You can choose as many as your budget allows. Your session fee includes one finished, retouched image to disc with unlimited usage rights. Any additional digital image files are also available for purchase.

Once you make your selection, we generally take no more than three business days (often sooner) to retouch and prepare your finished digital file, and will deliver via email, Dropbox or file transfer service.
